Berlin Nelson

Berlin Nelson

 

Dr. Berlin Nelson Jr received his Ph.D. in 1979 from Washington State University. His research program is primarily on the biology and management of soybean diseases such as root rots caused by Phytophthora, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia and other pathogens. He has a cooperative program with the soybean breeder to incorporate disease resistance into public soybean germplasm. He also conducts research on the interaction of soybean cyst nematode with fungal root pathogens of crops. He has expertise in home and building molds and problems associated with mold contamination.  Dr. Nelson is assisted in his research by Tracy Christianson, Amanda Wilkinson and Dr. Hui Yan. Dr. Nelson teaches a course on diseases of field crops
