North Dakota Range Camp 2016

When: June 21 to June 24, 2016 

Where: Hanson's Logging Cabin Ranch 16 miles north of Amidon, ND

What: The primary goal of Youth Range Camp is to teach the basic principles of range management, especially relating to livestock and wildlife. We hope that the participants will acquire an understanding of the complex nature of interactions and relationships between rangeland resources and other resources and uses. 

Campers will:

  • Learn how to evaluate range properly 
  • Learn about renge and livestock interactions
  • Be taught about the historical uses of range
  • Take part in a range judging contesst and exam in which the will compete for a belt buckle and plaque
  • Play range games
