Getting Started

Here are the typical steps for developing a web page or web site in the Ag CMS.

  1. Training - a variety of training is available over Wimba, as well as face-to-face. Check the "Training" link in the left-side navigation for details on upcoming training sessions.
  2. Site/Account Request - if you wish to create a new web content in the Ag CMS, you will need a place to put your content. You can request an Ag CMS site and account together by clicking "Request a Site or Account" in the left-side navigation, clicking on "Request an Ag CMS Site" and completing the online form.
If you wish to add or edit content to an existing Ag CMS site, click "Request a Site or Account" in the left-side navigation, click "Request an Account" and complete the online form. Once your account has been created, the manager of the site you wish to edit can grant you access to the site.
  3. Create Your Content - once you have access to your site, you are ready to create your content. For more information on creating and editing content, you can check out the "Quick Start Guide" in the left-side navigation.
  4. Go Live - before the general public can see the content you have created, you must make your site "live." To "go live," you should publish all of your content, then make a "go live" request by emailing Bob Bertsch. Once we receive your request, we will setup your URL and redirect any traffic from an pre-existing web site to your new Ag CMS site.
