Pesticide Laws

General Background Information

The use of pesticides in North Dakota is based upon federal law--the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act or FIFRA, and state law--the North Dakota Pesticide Act.  In North Dakota, the Department of Agriculture (NDDA) is charged with enforcement responsibilities while general policy decisions are left up to the North Dakota  Pesticide Control Board.
