Thomas Stefaniak

Thomas Stefaniak is a native of Lexington, KY.  He began work as the assistant pulse crop breeder at NCREC in September of 2013.  Prior to this he was a research associate at the University of South Carolina, a post-doc at Texas A&M University, and a research specialist at the University of Kentucky.  He received his B.A. degree from Michigan State University in humanities, and his M.S. degree from University of Kentucky in plant and soil sciences, and Ph.D. degree in crop science also at UK.

Thomas offers experience in the breeding of several crops including; soybean, sorghum, bermudagrass, tobacco, and now pulse crops. Thomas also enjoys tennis, cycling, and running with his dog.
