Certified Seed Growers Still May Apply for Field Inspections

Applications will be accepted until June 30.

The North Dakota State Seed Department is waiving late fees on applications for field inspections due to weather-related problems in the state, says Steve Sebesta, North Dakota deputy seed commissioner.

Applications for field inspections without late fees will be accepted until June 30.

Certified seed growers still are encouraged to apply for a field inspection as soon as possible.

“We realize that wet weather has delayed planting in some areas of the state,” says Sebesta. “Considering the difficulties growers have endured this spring, seed growers may not have had time to think about submitting applications for their seed fields. The Seed Department is taking this action to help alleviate further hardship during difficult times.”

Application forms are available at North Dakota State University Extension county offices or the state seed department. Electronic forms are available online at http://www.nd.gov/seed/.
