4-H’ers Win Honors in N.D. State Fair Sheep Show

Several youth bring home 4-H sheep show awards.

Youth exhibited 96 market lambs and 82 breeding sheep in the 4-H sheep show at the 2016 North Dakota State Fair in Minot on Wednesday, July 27. The judge for the show was Gene Sanford, Faribault, Minn.

Champions were selected in the breeding sheep division and market lamb division. The sheep showmanship competition consisted of three age groups: junior (age 8 to 11), intermediate (age 12 to 14) and senior (age 15 to 18).

Kaiden Bredahl, Berthold, exhibited the champion Overall Ewe, and Kodi Bell, Fordville, had the reserve champion Overall Ewe.

Addie Robbins, LaMoure, exhibited the champion Overall Ram, and Bailey Schroeder, Fordville, had the reserve champion Overall Ram.

Kaitlyn Peterson, Bismarck, exhibited the champion Overall Market Ewe, and Grace Solemsaas, Sherwood, had the reserve champion Overall Market Ewe.

Chase Huelle, Stanley, exhibited the champion Overall Market Wether, and Lynsey Schmitz, Oakes, had the reserve champion Overall Market Wether.

Kaitlyn Peterson, Bismarck, exhibited the champion Overall Market Lamb, and Chase Huelle, Stanley, had the reserve champion Overall Market Lamb.
