N.D. State Fair 4-H Poultry Show Winners Named

4-H’ers receive awards in the Poultry Show at the State Fair.

The 2014 North Dakota State Fair 4-H Poultry Show was held Sunday, July 20. The show had 137 entries. Wayne Fischer, Arlington, S.D., evaluated the poultry classes and judged the youth in showmanship.

The winners by class were:

  • Best in Show - Wyatt Kersten, Max
  • Senior Showmanship (ages 15 to 18) - champion, Pru Bray, Granville; reserve champion, Shae Lyn Johnson, Luverne
  • Intermediate Showmanship (ages 12-14) - champion, Madison Cooper, Douglas; reserve champion, Nicolas Costa, Bottineau
  • Junior Showmanship (ages 8 to 11) - champion, Will Bachmeier, Granville; reserve champion, Laney Wahus, Minot
  • Female Breeding Bantam Chicken - champion, Samantha Waagen, Bottineau; reserve champion, Lily Obert, Stanley
  • Male Breeding Bantam Chicken - champion, Colt Kersten, Max; reserve champion, Samantha Waagen, Bottineau
