Every fall, Cass County SCD hosts Eco-Ed (ecological education) field days for Cass County 7th and 8th grade students. This event educates students on a variety of conservation topics which support North Dakota State curriculum standards for life science. For the past 3 years I have taught the students prairie rangeland ecosystems, native grass differences, forestry trees, and pollinators portions of this class.
Last year the Central Cass had 108 students:
- Pretest: 64%
- Post test: 75%
Oak Grove had 40 students:
- Pretest: 75%
- Post test: 83%
The students did learn from my being their information they did not know.
