Weed Control and Canola Production
Weed Control and Canola Production
Leon Wrage, South Dakota State University - $3,206
Past canola evaluations have demonstrated productive potential and have shown excellent weed control. Crop rotations continue to become more flexible with alternative crops such as canola being considered. Local weed management information will provide a knowledge base to help in crop selection decisions. Weed control is one of the critical management issues for canola. Many producers are unaware of weed control options as they evaluate the potential for canola in more flexible rotations.
Objectives:
1. Maintain weed control database under local conditions.
2. Demonstrate to producers the performance of Roundup Ready, Liberty Link, and Clearfield technology in canola; including standard comparison.
3. Determine herbicide tolerance in canola.
