4-H Livestock Day Camp

Youth are encouraged to bring their 4-H animals for hands-on training in showmanship, clipping, fitting, nutrition and animal health. Youth will develop skills in proper daily care of animals to be prepared for the show day. They will have the latest techniques for fitting and clipping in each species. Youth will also have the opportunity to work with other species of livestock for showmanship skills. 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Pigs: 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Beef: 10:30 - 12:30 pm

Lunch: 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

Sheep: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Goats: 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

* Kids are encouraged to pick which sessions they want to attend, or they can attend all the sessions*

Who Should Attend?

Area youth (4-H membership not required)  ages 5 and up will have hands-on experience with beef, sheep, hogs, and goats.  The morning session will be focused on beginners (5-10 year olds) and the afternoon will be more advanced (11-18 year olds).

Interested parents and volunteers are also welcome.

The Cost:

The registration fee for the Day Camp is $15 per youth. The fee includes noon lunch and a t-shirt.

Complete the registration form and return it to the Mountrail County Extension Office by June 20th.
