I have been given scraps of fabric from a great supporter of 4-H.  If you would like to come in and take a look, they are yours free for the taking.  Please do not call to ask what size, there is a variety of sizes, mostly smaller pieces.

Parents and youth involved in the 4-H Shooting Sports program are required to attend a shooting sports meeting on Monday, February 1 at Nishu Bowmen.  We will start at 6:30pm. Please plan on an hour meeting.  We will discuss a variety of topics to keep you informed regarding archery, hunting skills and shotgun.

We will have a meeting to discuss Hunting Skills, requirements for this and commitments to possible take a team to Nationals this summer in Grand Island, NE.  The meeting will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 7:30pm at Nishu Bowmen.

Going forward the North Dakota 4-H program has adopted the following policy for Competitive Events in Educational Programming:

“Each age division is considered a separate contest.  Generally, junior division participants are ages 8-13 before September 1 at the start of the 4-H year.

Senior division participants are 14-18 on the same date.  In events, where there is a national contest, the national contest ages will be used for the senior division.  If an event/contest has specific rules different from this, the event rules will apply.”

It’s my favorite time of the year!  Club visit time.  Please let me know when I can visit your club.  Perhaps you would like a special project done, have youth interested in Communication Arts or perhaps just visit about 4-H programs in Morton County.  I would very much enjoy visiting your club.  Give me a call and let me know when your meeting is and if I’m not already scheduled with another club, I will make a stop by your meeting!

At this point, if you have not registered for 4-H you are missing out on emails, mailings and most importantly getting your meetings in before Morton County 4-H Achievement Days.  Please, leaders check online by logging into your club through 4-H Online and see who has not registered for 4-H and have been attending club meetings.  I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that every youth member that is attending club meetings is registered through 4-H online to be covered under insurance.  If you have questions about this, please call me at the office.  I would be happy to check your club enrollment.

Watch for another update next week, we will start adding calendar to keep you updated on upcoming events.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office at 701-667-3340 or email me at karla.meikle@ndsu.edu.

Have a great weekend!
