Mini Sessions - You will be able to attend three of these exciting sessions on Sunday afternoon.
Leadership Etiquette – Carrie Knutson
Learn about etiquette as it applies to professional situations and tips to improve your socializing skills. You will learn how to create a personal elevator speech.
Dash-n-Drum – Caroline Homan and Deb Moen
In this engaging session, you will drum your way to designing your personal dashboard while practicing leadership, team building, positive risk taking, goal setting and more. Learn how to keep track of your goals, your values and the things you need to do so you can create positive change in your life and your community while staying happy and healthy.
Freeze Tag Flicks – Shawna Marion and Barb Sandstrom
3…2…1…Action! Calling all actors, directors, and those who are curious! In this session you’ll “build a scene” by putting yourself in someone else’s shoe, depicting different points of view, tapping into your creativity, and generating new ideas and thoughts. You’ll use your imagination and innovation to create freeze tag flicks that pique your peers’ interest and get them asking questions.
Local Government – Dena Kemmet
This session will provide an opportunity for youth to learn more about their county, city and state government. They will gain a broader understanding of the specific role agencies play in our daily lives.
Power and Privilege – Sue Quamme
We all have places of power and places of privilege. Come explore these ideas and see how power and privilege have an impact on our paths to achievement and how power plays into prejudice and discrimination.
CHAPERONES
I am looking for assistance in taking the Livestock Judging team to Fargo on Friday, March 1 returning Saturday, March 2. We will need to take State Fleet vehicles to this event. Morton County 4-H would cover the cost of your hotel room and meals for the trip. Please let me know if you can assist by Friday, January 25 as I will need to have your driver’s license information and complete youth protection paperwork for chaperones.
I may also need additional drivers for other contests including Hippology and Livestock Judging, please contact me if you are available to help for Little I, February 7-8. Thank you.
PROGRAM ENROLLMENT FEES
I am pleased to inform you that Program Enrollment Fees will go away beginning with the start of the 2019-2020 4-H year. Administration has reviewed the work involved in implementing the fees and following up with counties and has decided to discontinue the fees. We are so excited here at the office! Thank you all for understanding.
4-H ENROLLMENT
I will be sending out information to all 4-H leaders regarding enrollment for their clubs. A lot of youth and leaders are still showing inactive. We need to get this changed so you receive information for the upcoming 4-H Achievement Days in August. Leaders, please watch your email later this week for an updated roster for your club from the office.
