National Judging Team


The Morton County 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in the National 4-H Contest on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, in Louisville, KY. There were 34 teams competing and 124 individuals in the contest.  Team Coaches are: Jackie Buckley, Mandan; Taylor Friesz, New Salem; Ben Tokach, St. Anthony; and Luke Keller, Mandan. Team members are: Sierra Ellingson-St. Anthony, Jacy Hauge-Carson, Conner Kaelberer, Jess Sanders-New Salem. The team alternate was Jake Sanders-New Salem.

The Morton County Team placed 18th overall in the contest. The team was 3rd in swine, 12th in Beef and 27th in sheep. In Reasons, the team placed 21st.

Individually, Jacy Hauge, placed 33rd overall, Jess Sanders 64th, Sierra Ellingson 66th and Conner Kaelberer 75th overall.  In Reasons, Jess Sanders placed 55th, Jacy Hauge 64th, Sierra Ellingson 66th and Conner Kaelberer 83rd.  In Swine, Jacy Hauge placed 4th, Jess Sanders 28th, Sierra Ellingson 42nd and Conner Kaelberer 73rd. In Sheep, Jacy Hauge placed 84th, Jess Sanders 96th, Sierra Ellingson 100th and Conner Kaelberer 105th.  In Beef, Conner Kaelberer placed 23rd, Sierra Ellingson 33rd, Jacy Hauge 45th and Jess Sanders placed 55th. In Beef Performance, Jess Sanders placed 47th, Conner Kaelberer 48th, Sierra Ellingson 49th and Jacy Hauge placed 61st.
