The Alzheimer’s Association can help you get the information you need about memory loss and dementia. Whether you have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, are caring for someone who has, or want to be better informed about the impact of Alzheimer’s in your community, we have the answers you need.  This interactive workshop features video clips of people with Alzheimer’s disease as a way to highlight the challenges they face every day.

The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection gives you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. You can explore treatments that may provide some relief of symptoms and help you maintain a level of independence longer.

So what should you do if you see these signs in yourself or someone else? Encourage anyone with symptoms to see a doctor to find out the cause. Some causes of the signs can be treated or reversed!

Getting the right treatment as soon as possible is crucial no matter what the diagnosis. Have more time to plan for the future – A diagnosis of Alzheimer's allows you to take part in decisions about care, transportation, living options, financial and legal matters. You can also participate in building the right care team and social support network.  It’s easy to let things slide.

Attend this interactive workshop to learn the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s disease. We’ll separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears about Alzheimer’s in America. Hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others. You can change or even save a life by continuing to talk and follow up.  Together we can break the stigma that keeps people from getting the help they need.
