2018 4-H Awards Banquet

 

 

The McIntosh County 4-H Awards Banquet was held on Sunday, November 18th in Ashley. 

4-H members received awards including discs, trophies and plaques for participation in various events throughout the year. 

McIntosh County Bank, Hometown Credit Union, First Community Credit Union, Farm Credit Services and Security State Bank sponsored the banquet.  We appreciate their year-round support of the 4-H program.

Damian Bender shared his experiences at the Extension Youth Conference which was held this past summer at NDSU.  He earned a scholarship to conference by placing first in his category at a district communications arts competition.

Cassidy Walth spoke about how 4-H has had a positive impact on her life and how her experiences have helped her succeed in competitions both at the high school and college level.  She also spoke of how 4-H and FFA complement each other.

4-H members must complete year end paperwork and apply for awards in the project areas of their choice.  Applications are then reviewed by 4-H leaders and Extension staff.

Communication Arts Participants 

All competed at the district event in Mandan with Macy Monson and  Damian Bender advancing to the State Fair where Damian earned an Award of Excellence.  He also earned a scholarship to the Extension Youth Conference where he presented his demonstration “Fantabulous Fishing”.Communications Arts


Consumer Decision Making

Addie joined a senior team from another county and the rest formed their own junior team together with Addie coaching them. Addie was 9th in the state and his team came in second in the senior division.Consumer Decision Making


Archery Participants 

The archery participants competed at many tournaments and brought home several awards including: Camden earned 1st at State Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Kenady, Kya and Hailey were the Junior Bare Bow Champion Team for State Outdoor Championship.   Kenady was 4th in the Junior Bare Bow division at the State Outdoor Tournament and 5th at the Indoor Championship.  The team was coached by Sara Gross and Amanda Lange.Archery

Clothing Revue

Macy participated in the Clothing Revue at the State Fair modeling a dress that she sewed which also earned a blue ribbon as a static exhibit.
