4H and Youth Development

Welcome to McHenry County 4-H!

 

 

 

Is your child interested in joining 4-H? The new 4-H year begins September 1st. Youth must be 5 by September 1st to join. Listed below are the clubs and when their first meeting is.
•Happy Neighbors- Sunday, September 10, 1 pm at the Extension Office, Towner 
•Balfour Roughriders- Sunday, September 17, 2 pm at the Drake School
•Rising Stars- Sunday, September 17, 4 pm at the Granville City Park
•Velva Guys and Gals- Monday, September 25, 7 pm at Oak Valley Church, Velva

4-H Mission

4-H Youth Development education creates supportive learning environments for youth and adults to reach their fullest potential as capable, competent, and caring citizens.

How to Join 4-H

4-H is open to all youth 5-18 years of age, September 1 is the starting date for age, related to 4-H events.  To join 4-H youth should be 5 years by September 1 and not over 18 years by September 1 of the current year.  Younger youth can become a Cloverbud which is a non-competitive program designed for youth 5-8 years of age.  If you are interested in joining 4-H contact McHenry County NDSU Extension or call us 701-537-5405 for more information or enrollment forms.
