1)      What is the new NDSU Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Extension Service?

 Hello, my name is Dave Lehman, and I am a manufacturing engineer for NDSU.  NDSU’s Industrial and Manufacturing engineering extension program was established in May of 2009 to assist ND manufacturers and entrepreneurs to be competitive in domestic and global markets.  This service is an extension of the NDSU’s college of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.  Programatically, the program is tied to NDSU’s Center for Community Vitality in Bismarck and the Institute for Business and Industy Development out of Fargo.  NDSU's goal was to create a program which would give businesses within the state easier access to the technology and resources within NDSU.  It was felt that NDSU's current extension service would be a great way to tie NDSU to North Dakota's manufacturers and manufacturing resources.
