The 2015 in-service groundwater management workshop was held on August 26th and 27th at the Langdon REC to provide extension agents detailed information regarding the different aspects of tile drainage systems in the wake of a growing number of producers who are opting for tiling. It was a one and a half day workshop, that covered high water table levels and resulting soil salinity issues, agronomic benefits of tile drainage systems, wetland determination process, design parameters of tile drainage, and the Langdon REC tiling project on day one by NDSU and NRCS personnel as well as an Ellingson Companies representative. On day two an update was provided for the Langdon REC groundwater management research project along with a detailed physical tour of the site.
