Stepping on

Stepping On is a program that has been researched and proven to reduce falls in older people. It consists of a workshop that meets for two hours a week for seven weeks. Workshops are led by Vanessa Hoines and Shaundra Ziemann-Bolinske, NDSU Extension Agents and Mandy Slag, Injury Prevention Program Director, ND Dept. of Health. In addition, community guest experts provide infor-mation on vision, safety and medications. Topics include:
• Simple and fun balance and strength training
• The role vision plays in keep-ing your balance
• How medications can contrib-ute to falls
• Ways to keep from falling when out in your community
• What to look for in safe foot-wear
• How to eliminate fall hazards from your home

Parents Forever

Parents Forever is a research-based program designed to help parents make informed, child-supportive decisions during separation/divorce, resulting in healthy children and positive parent-child relationships.
Cost is $55 per person.
Please register and pay at least two weeks prior to class to hold your spot. Child care is not available.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

This program is designed to help caregivers take better care of themselves. Through a 6-week program, participants learn about reducing stress, improving self-confidence, better communicating feelings, balancing their lives, increasing their ability to make tough decisions and locating helpful resources.

Classes will be held Tuesdays: October 17, 31 and November 7, 14, 21, 28 from 1:30-3 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley, ND. Cost is $32 which includes a Caregiver’s Workbook and refreshments.
