eXtension Impact Statement Reporting Course

Extension’s impact on the people we serve must be communicated to decision makers and others.

eXtension’s new Impact Statement Reporting online course can help you learn the basics of developing an impact statement or provide a refresher.

The seven modules take about 1½ hours to complete, but you certainly don’t have to complete all seven at one time.

As you go through the course, you’ll notice that NDSU Extension uses a few different terms and processes:

  • We used to call them impact reports but now NDSU also is calling them impact statements as this course does.
  • You will complete your impact statement following NDSU Extension procedures rather than the procedure explained in module 6. The program leaders select NDSU impact reports to submit to the Land-Grant University System Database, sponsored by the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy. However, please explore the Land-Grant University System Database to learn what other Extension professionals from around the country are doing.

To access the course

  • On the eXtension Campus home page, try to log in. If you’ve been on staff a few years, you already may have an account because the NDSU Extension Service used the Campus system for self-assessments several years ago. Before creating a new account, try to log in, using Forgotten your username or password? if necessary. The Campus site is independent of eXtension in general, so if you have an eXtension account, you also need a Campus account.
  • When you are logged in, type impact reporting in the Search courses box. Select the course titled Impact Statement Reporting.
  • As an eXtension premium member, all NDSU Extension Service staff members have one enrollment key to access the Impact Statement Reporting course for free rather than paying the $80 fee. Contact Elizabeth Cronin, Kris Holt  for the enrollment key.
  • Type the NDSU Extension enrollment key in the Enrollment key box and click Enroll me.
  • After you’re enrolled
