Impact Statements

Impact Statements and Ignite Presentations

NDSU Extension Service Impact Statements are brief summaries of the economic, environmental or social outcomes of our educational efforts. They summarize our accomplishments and their impact on our state and its citizens. Ignite presentations are video-recorded summaries of programs that make a difference.

Tips for Writing Great Statements

  • Impacts statements are data driven
  • Write professionally, avoid jargon or acronyms
  • List clear and concise situation statement/objectives in the situation section.
  • Be sure to give the context; what happened, who/numbers attending and incorporate into the Extension response section
  • Use an evaluation tool that yields outcomes data (level 2 or higher) and to incorporate into the Impact section and anecdotal feedback for the Feedback section

Impact statements are best viewed in Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. To access PDF files you need Adobe Reader installed. If you do not have Adobe Reader on your computer, you can download it below.
