4-H Youth and Development

4-H is a fun, learn-by-doing educational program for young people.  It is the youth development program of the North Dakota State University Extension Service, but it is more than you ever imagined.  4-H Youth Development programming in Hettinger County offers opportunities for youth ages 5-18 to experience projects, club meetings, community service and a variety of events and activities while having fun, meeting new friends and learning new skills.  Youth choose project areas of interest to them and learn life skills such as responsibility, decision-making, public speaking and leadership. Adult volunteer leaders teach projects to youth using the "learn-by-doing" method.  4-H is the largest and the only research based youth organization in the state.
