Apple 
CREC has five standard sized varieties.
Aronia 
A native plant gaining in popularity for its nutraceutical fruit, ease of growth and large yields.
Black currant  
Easy-to-grow shrub with unique, healthful black fruit that makes delicious jam, wine or liqueur.
Dwarf sour cherry 
Moderately sized, very low suckering, hardy shrub that produces high-quality, deep red fruit.
Elderberry 
We are looking for hardy specimens with good fruit production.
Gooseberry 
An excellent fruit for the home garden.  Use like fresh grapes.
Grape 
Eighteen varieties are being evaluated for making wine, jelly and juice, and eating fresh.
Haskap 
This new, extremely hardy edible blue honeysuckle grows in almost any soil and can be used like blueberries.  Bred from Japanese stock.  Also known as Honeyberry.
Hazelnut
Hazelnut breeding has expanded into colder growing areas. CREC showcases several Canadian hybrids and plants from Riverbend Hazelnuts, Horace, ND. 
Honeyberries 
Bred from Russian stock.  See Haskap.
Juneberry 
Well-loved native fruit also known as Saskatoon or serviceberry.
Plum
Hardy, hybrid plums produce juicy, sweet fruit on medium-sized trees.  Production is weather-dependent and variable.
Red & White Currant 
Compact shrubs with excellent production.  Fruit makes wonderful wine.
