NDSU Extension Livestock

LINK to a cover crop webinar series for selection of cover crops and/or cover crop mixes for grazing in North Dakota along with resources on determining rental rates, forage production, stocking rates and carrying capacity.

- Haying, grazing, or cutting/ensiling planted cover crop prior to November 1st will result in a reduction in PP payment (35% payment)

- If you plan to utilize cover crop before November 1st, crop must not be planted before the late planting period (LPP), typically 25 days after the Final Planting Date. Planting before the LPP will result in 0% PP payment.*
