Lakewood, Colorado May 6-7, 2014

The 2014 annual meeting was hosted by Chair, Bob Cain at the Denver Federal Center on  May 6th and 7th.  Subjects covered included a current overview of the effort to update the General Technical Report Rm-129 Diseases of Trees in the Great Plains, an overview and state discussion of pine wilt disease, thousand cankers disease of black walnut, the status of emerald ash borer, limber pine research, road salt injury and invasive plant management.  All states represented at the meeting gave state reports on tree/forest health conditions.  The second day of the meeting was an all day field trip to Fort Collins for a look at responses to emerging pests, into the mountains to visit a town impacted by flooding and concluded with a trip to Boulder to discuss emerald ash borer issues with the Boulder City Forester.
