3 Foundations of Effective Parenting

Effective parenting involves a balance of three main elements, nurturing, discipline and respect for children. These three elements are critical for children of all ages and should be used daily throughout childhood. Use these techniques and build a stronger parent-child relationship.

Effective Parenting

1. Parental Nurturing = LOVE

Nurturing your child is to love them and support them in every way. This is a healthy development for children to live by. As nurtured children tend to accept parents' demands and are easier to discipline, being nurtured. Listening to your child attentively, spending quality time with your children and actually being available to your child will nurture them the way they need it.

2. Parental Discipline = LIMITS

Parental discipline is a combination of identifying and expecting responsible behavior from children. It includes setting limits or rules, monitoring youngsters' behavior and whereabouts, and firmly but kindly enforcing limits.

3. Respecting Children

Having respect means giving children the freedom of their thoughts and their expressions of ideas, values and emotions. Respect, nurturing and discipline are all just as important as the other.

These three foundations of effective parenting will guide you and your child through an easier parent-child relationship.
