Foundation seed prices are based on several components including commodity market prices, the cost of production, and program budgets. Proposed prices are reviewed seasonally and approved by a committee represented by the following:

• Plant Sciences department chair
• Agronomy Seed Farm director
• Carrington Research and Extension Center director
• NDSU Extension agronomist
• NDSU Extension ag economist
• NDCISA seed industry representative
• NDSU Extension ANR agent
• Foundation Seed director     

Foundation seed prices are uniform throughout the REC network, however, not all crops or varieties are available at all locations. Contact the specific REC or check the North Dakota State Seed Department Seed Directory for current availability.
