Trail Mix Popcorn
This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension.


8 brown paper bags

2 c. fruit and nut trail mix, divided ¼ c.

6 c. unsalted popped popcorn, divided into ¾ c.

5 tbsp. & 1 tsp. semisweet mini chocolate chips, divided into 2 tsp.

8 tsp. unsalted butter, melted and divided 1 tsp.

1 tsp. poppy seeds, divided 1/8 tsp.


Place the trail mix, popcorn, chocolate chips in the brown paper bag and mix. Drizzle the 1 tablespoon melted butter on the mixture, close the bag and mix. Top with poppy seeds and mix again. Serve and enjoy.


Makes eight (1 cup) servings. Each serving has 260 calories, 17 grams (g) fat, 5 g protein, 24 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber and 15 milligrams sodium.
