Jell-O Worms
Jell-O Worms
This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.

  • 1 pkg. (6 oz.) Jell-O*
  • 3/4 oz. (3 envelopes) unflavored gelatin
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 3/4 c. whipping cream
  • 100+ plastic straws with bendable necks.

Combine gelatin and Jell-O in a bowl and add boiling water; stir until gelatins completely dissolve. Cook until lukewarm, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, gently pull straws to extend to full length; place in tall containers that is as wide as it is tall. Wrap straws together with a loose rubber band. Blend cream with the lukewarm gelatin mixture. Carefully pour into container, filling straws. Chill until gelatin is firm, at least eight hours, or cover and chill up to two days. Pull straws from container or, if you're using a carton, simply tear the carton away from the filled straws. Pull straws apart. Starting at the empty ends, push worms from the straws with your fingers or use a rolling pin.

*Any flavor works. If you want your worms to look real, use cherry or grape.
