Baking Master Mix

This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.


  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 c. margarine, softened
  • 1/3 c. baking powder
  • 1 c. nonfat dry milk
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 c. whole-wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt


Mix white flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add margarine and mix. Stir in dry milk. Stir in whole-wheat flour. Store in refrigerator and use within three months.

Makes 11 cups. Use in Master Mix recipes listed in publication or online.
