Orange Pork Chops

This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.


  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 peeled sweet potatoes
  • 1 sliced orange
  • dash of cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • dash of black pepper


Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium skillet, brown pork chops in a small amount of oil. Cut sweet potatoes into 1/2-inch slices. Place meat and sweet potatoes in a baking dish and top with orange slices; sprinkle with seasonings. Cover and bake for one hour until meat is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 160 F.

Makes 4 servings.

Per Serving: about 260 calories, 11 grams (g) of fat, and 15 g carbohydrate.
