Juicy Onion Burgers

This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.


  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 8-oz can tomato sauce
  • 8 hamburger buns split


Prepare and heat grill. In large bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix, and tomato sauce, and gently mix. Shape into 8 patties.

Cook 4 to 6 inches from medium coals for 14 to 19 minutes; flip once. Cook to internal temperature of 160 degrees. Toast buns on grill just as burgers are finishing. Serve burgers on buns with toppings of choice.

Makes 8 servings.
