Strawberry Ice Milk in a Bag
This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension.

Ingredients

Vanilla

1½ tsp. sugar
½ c. whole milk
¼ tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. rock salt
ice to fill gallon-size bag
2 zip-top bags (1-quart size and 1-gallon size)

Directions

  1. Place sugar, vanilla and milk in the small (quart-size) plastic bag.
  2. Add ingredients for optional flavor variations.
  3. Place the small bag inside the large (gallon-size) bag.
  4. Add salt and ice in the large bag and close. Make sure the bags have no holes.
  5. Shake the bags for approximately five to 10 minutes or until the mixture becomes thick or hard like ice cream. Enjoy eating out of the bag or cut a corner of the bag to squeeze the ice milk into a bowl.

Makes one ½-cup serving. Each serving has 100 calories, 4 grams (g) fat, 4 g protein, 12 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber and 55 milligrams (mg) sodium.

½ Tbsp. mini semisweet chocolate chips
