Hummus Dippers
This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.


  • 1 (15 oz.) can chickpeas
  • 4 Tbsp. tahini
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Dipping Ingredients:

  • Hummus
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3/4 c. bread crumbs (try whole wheat)
  • 1/4 c. parmesan cheese
  • Large pinch of salt


  • Puree peas in blender or food processor. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth and thick.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly beat the eggs in a bowl. in a separate bowl, mix bread crumbs, parmesan, and salt together. Set up hummus, beaten eggs and bread crumbs mixture into an assembly line. Roll the hummus into 1-inch portions or balls. Take the hummus portion and dip into the eggs then into the bread crumb mixture. Set breaded hummus on greased baking sheet, 1-inches apart. Bake for 10-15 minutes, and then turn on broil setting and brown dippers 2-5 minutes. Serve warm with favorite dipping sauce.
