Bean Bake

This healthy recipe comes from NDSU Extension Service.


  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 15.5-oz. can pork and beans
  • 1 15.5-oz. can kidney or pinto beans


Brown beef; drain fat. Combine beef with rest of ingredients and place in large casserole. Bake at 350 F for one hour.


Makes 6 servings.

Per serving: 280 calories, 4.7 grams (g) fat, 40 g carbohydrate and 8 g fiber.
