Get Organized For Cleanup
Set priorities. Remove mud, clean and disinfect.
Dry Ceilings and Walls
Flood-soaked drywall or other porous material must be removed and thrown away.
Prevent Mold Growth
Take furniture, rugs, bedding and clothing outside to dry as soon as possible.
Remove Mold, If Possible
Mold can be removed from hard surfaces such as hard plastic, glass, metal and countertops. Completely removing moisture and mold from porous surfaces such as paper, drywall and carpet padding is impossible, so these materials must be removed and discarded.
Remove Water from the Basement Slowly
If your basement is full or nearly full of water, pump out just 2 or 3 feet of water each day.

Evaluate your house's foundation and structure before entering
Replacing or Reconditioning Electrical Wiring and Equipment
Hire a professional to replace or recondition electrical wiring and equipment.
