One Vegetable One Community

One Vegetable One Community (OVOC) strives to unite the Fargo-Moorhead communities by encouraging gardeners to grow, cook, and share a single vegetable. The aim is to see the vegetable of the year growing in kitchen gardens, community and school gardens, containers on front porches, in front of businesses, faith-based organizations, and government buildings. The 2016 Fargo Moorhead OVOC Program features colorful carrots. This year, 750 kits will be placed in public places throughout the Fargo-Moorhead community. OVOC starter kits have free seeds, growing tips, and cooking ideas.  Gardeners are asked to complete a brief contact information card in return for taking a free kit. Gardeners are also encouraged to join the conversation by sharing their ideas and experiences on the FM One Vegetable One Community Facebook page where they can post pictures, recipes, and growing tips; and can visit the Pinterest site where they can view and re-pin pictures, recipes, and ideas. We want to see pictures of your gardens, your projects and any recipes with your home-grown carrots! For more information, contact Kim at .
