What does NDSU Extension Service do?

Never heard of us? Not sure what we do? Completely confused by organizational purposes, missions, goals and objectives? O.K., here is what we do.

The NDSU Extension Service exists to help you. It's as simple as that.

We use the results of scientific research, much of it conducted at North Dakota State University, to help you improve your life and your community. We're basically a go-between between you and the scientists. There's loads of discovery, innovation and creation happening at NDSU and other land-grant universities across the United States, but it doesn't always make it out of the labs and into the public. I know it's hard to believe, but not all brilliant scientists and researchers are gifted communicators. Some people can even be intimidated by lab coats and pocket protectors.

That's where we come in. Our Extension educators sift through all the science to find what can really make a difference in your life and community. Whether its a new crop variety, information about keeping your food safe, or research on how to have a positive influence on kids, we take what the scientists tell us and use it to share information you can use, to answer your questions and to create programs that will make a difference.

With a physical office on all but one North Dakota county, the people of NDSU Extension Service are reaching out to you. We want to help. So let's get connected. Find your county extension office, find us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and check out our videos on YouTube.

Let us know how we can help.
