Selection Process for Mentors

An interested staff person may indicate their desire to serve as a mentor by completing the Mentor Application.

The district director and applicant may discuss the mentor opportunity to clarify expectations and provide general feedback.

Matching Process for Mentor/Mentee

  • The district director matches the mentee with a consenting mentor, notifies the mentor of the match, and informs the mentee of the match.
  • Mentees will be assigned a mentor as they begin their position. District director will inform Staff Development Coordinator, of selection.
  • When possible, mentors assigned will have a similar position as the mentee.
  • Mentors assigned will be as geographically close to the mentee as possible.
  • Mentor or mentee may request a change or release from the assignment by contacting his/her district director, without fear of repercussions.
