Soil Health/Land Management Team recognized (9/4/2015)

Chandra HeglundPlease join me in a round of applause for the Soil Health/Land Management Team. Naeem Kalwar and Chris Augustin, area soil health specialists with the Langdon and North Central RECs, respectively; Abbey Wick, soil health specialist, and Chandra Heglund, research technician with the School of Natural Resource Sciences; and Ben Geaumont and Jasper Teboh, research assistant professors with the Hettinger and Carrington RECs, respectively, were recognized with the national Merit Award by the Soil and Water Conservation Society. The award “is given in recognition of an outstanding activity, product or service by a group, business firm, corporation or organization that promotes the conservation of soil, water and related natural resources.” Chandra was on hand to receive the award at the society’s 70th International Annual Conference at Greensboro, N.C. the end of July.
