Social Media: Another example of successful connections (4/2/2014)

AgritourismEtcIn contrast to the local relationships developed in the SHARE Talk café visits, Glenn Muske, rural and agribusiness enterprise development specialist, is using social media to develop strong working relationships with his audience. Glenn reaches out to business owners and educators through a monthly e-newsletter, and two tweets and one Facebook Glenn Muskepost each day. Glenn also posts something on Pinterest on a regular basis. He has also developed major entrepreneurship online programs like Marketing Agritourism Online, eTailing and Direct Marketing Food Specialty Products Online. Glenn’s goal is a continuous stream of social media micro learning activities of 15 to 20 minutes or less that keep coming without overwhelming the recipient.

“Feedback from business owners and educators comes in two forms, both offering support that the material is appreciated,” says Glenn. “Some people may send a quick ‘thank-you’ or ‘found the article useful’ while others like, share and re-post on their social media channels. Both confirm you have reached your audience with useful and timely information.”
