New employee assistance program provider for benefitted employees

We recently hosted a conference call discussing support for stressed farmers. We also have support for our staff who may be facing stressful times through The Village Business Institute. Effective July 1 the employee assistance program (EAP) provider for NDSU benefitted employees is The Village rather than Deer Oaks. The Village offers individual and family counseling as well as additional services such as financial counseling. Fees are paid by NDSU. Employees and their family members may use the counseling services offered by The Village by contacting them at 1-800-627-8220.

EAP orientation sessions to briefly introduce employees to The Village EAP services are scheduled for July 8 and July 15 at 2 p.m. in the Hidatsa Room, Memorial Union.  Employees unable to attend in person can get similar information from a YouTube video available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T98HBZCblZY&feature=youtu.be. Employees may also access online resources at http://villageeap.com/ and use the username NDSU.

Brittnee Steckler with the Office of Human Resources and Payroll is your contact on the EAP,brittnee.steckler@ndsu.edu, 701-231-8965.

State employee suggestion incentive award program

The North Dakota University System Suggestion Incentive Award Committee invites suggestions that cut costs of state government. The Suggestion Incentive Award Program was approved by the state legislature in 1993, and in 2013, the legislature increased the amount a North Dakota state employee may receive. If an idea is approved, an employee may receive 20 percent of the first year’s savings realized, up to a maximum of $4,000. The form to submit an idea is available at http://www.nd.gov/eforms/doc/sfn19291.pdf. Questions may be directed to Adam Hamm, chair of the Suggestion Incentive Committee, at awhamm@nd.gov or 701-328-4638.
