Five receive awards at NACAA annual meeting (7/27/2015)


The National Association of County Agricultural Agents had another successful annual meeting and professional development conference. This year’s meeting took place at Sioux Falls, S.D., July 12-16, 2015. Five NDSU Extension Service employees received awards from their national peers in recognition of their accomplishments and quality of programming. And Craig Askim, Extension ANR agent in Mercer County was elected as vice chair for the North Central Region Agriculture and Public Issues Committee with two years to follow as national chair.

Greg Endres, Area Extension Specialist, Cropping Systems/Carrington Research Extension Center. Communications Award: Publication – State Winner

Joel Lemer, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources/Foster County. North Central Region Achievement Award

Penny Nester, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources/Kidder County. Communications Award: Personal Column – State Winner and Communications Award: Program Promotional Piece – North Central Region Winner

Steve Sagaser, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources-Horticulture/Grand Forks County. Distinguished Service Award  State Winner

Todd Weinmann, Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources-Horticulture/Cass County. Communications Award: Feature Story – State Winner; Excellence in 4-H and Youth Program Award  – State Winner; Landscape Horticulture Search for Excellence – State Winner; and Search for Excellence, Sustainable Agriculture/SARE, North Central Region – National Winner
