932,678 direct contacts in 2014 (3/23/2015)

US Route 83NDSU Extension Service staff and faculty made 932,678 face-to-face and other direct contacts with North Dakotans in 2014. That’s a substantial number. To illustrate, if 932,678 average-sized adults stood shoulder to shoulder, they would fill the entire length of US Route 83 across North Dakota – that’s 265 miles!

What does this number mean? In his Oct. 2014 State of the University address, President Bresciani used the phrase, “we serve our citizens.” Our QPR data is one piece of evidence Direct Contacts 2014that NDSU Extension Service serves North Dakota through a valuable and diverse array of programs. It shows how we are fulfilling our vision “to be the premier lifelong education network that helps North Dakotans improve their quality of life.”  (Click here to upsize chart.)

I’m proud of our work and look forward to using the information you reported to tell our story to SBARE members, legislators and others in key roles. If you also want to share this information, feel free to do so. Thank you for the energy and effort you put into extending knowledge and changing lives in North Dakota.
