Minutes from the October 28, 2008 ESP Meeting

Prairie Rose Room, Memorial Union, NDSU, Fargo, ND

 

The meeting was called to order by President Willie Huot at 4:07 p.m.

Guests: Gary Moran, Hugh McDonald, Sharon Anderson, Duane Berglund, Harvey Hirning, Ron Anderson and Alan Dexter.

Minutes of the April 2, 2008 meeting were approved as printed.

Treasurer’s Report: Marcia McMullen moved to approve and Sharon Kickertz-Gerbig second. Motion carried.

Linda Hauge demonstrated ESP website for the 2009 conference.

Duane Hauck encouraged members to help with national meeting.

History & Retirees: Gary Moran reported that the Retirees Breakfast is held monthly on the 3rd Thursday.

Membership: Dues are $60 according to Vanessa Hoines

2008 Galaxy Recap: Thanks to those that staffed the booth. Official invites done by Debb Pankow. Brochures and bookmarks were distributed. Bill Hodous put together Devils Lake fishing trip for the auction.

The 2009 national meeting will be held September 13-16 at the Holiday Inn, Fargo. Bruce Sundeen showed the video he put together. Rita Ussatis reported on location arrangement and that the budget was approved by the national board. Lori Scharmer is in charge of decorations. Debb Pankow reported that the pre-conference tours will from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Kathy Tweeten confirmed speakers for the conference. Rick Schmidt is in charge of the auction and Bruce Sundeen will take care of equipment. Eunice Sahr is in charge of registration and hospitality. About 200 people are expected to attend and she is checking on what system to use for registration. Sharon Query will head up the poster sessions. Bruce Sundeen and Willie Huot will use Survey Monkey for the evaluation of the conference. Wayne Hankel volunteered to help on a committee.

New Business:

Auction proceeds distribution. Kathy Tweeten moved that 30 percent be put into the general ESP scholarship fund and 70 percent to fund to defray some of the 2009 National Conference registration fee. Marcia McMullen seconded. Motion carried.
