Epsilon Sigma Phi, Oct. 27, 2005
The annual meeting of the Upsilon Chapter of ESP was held during fall extension conference at the Fargo Doublewood Inn on Oct. 27, 2005

The meeting was called to order by Peggy Anderson at 7:22 am.

Guests present were: Sharon Anderson Dexter Johnson, Ruth Gulbrandson and Gary Moran

Marv Condon passed away and was remembered in a moment of silence.

The Secretary and Treasurer reports were reviewed and approved.

Committee Reports:
History- Gary Moran- Extension history update report is finished and will be available on the web. Any extension related documents should be sent to committee members. Gary has also updated the history membership  list.
Retiree's social is headed up by Hugh McDonald and Ron Anderson and meet for breakfast every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Fargo Holiday Ilm. Mention was also made of the need for pre-retirement planning.
Membership-Vanessa Haines- Dues of $40 is being collected. Two new members will be initiated at the next meeting. They are: Lori Scharmer and Rachelle Vettern.
Professional Development & Recognition- Sharon Kickerz-Gerbig- Requested awards recognition nominations by Feb.1. The list of awards is on the web page. JCEP has several awards available.
Member Services/Scholarship- Jackie Buckley- Applications for scholarships need to be submitted.
Nominations- Eunice Sahr- The nominations for new ESP president are: Terry Gregoire and Karl Hoppe. Terry Gregoire was elected by a ballot vote.
Global Relations- Margret Tweeten- Work overseas is available. A study tour of the "1994 Institutions" is being investigated.

The JCEP state report was handed out and reviewed by the membership.

Upsilon chapter is submitting an application for a Chapter of Excellence award.

JCEP is looking for representatives for national committees.  They are also looking to ESP for professional development. The next JCEP meeting is to be held in St. Louis, Missouri.

North Dakota is presenting a Memorandum  of Understanding  between the Director, Leadership team and the organization. Moved by Gary Moran and seconded by Willie Huot to accept the resolution. The resolution was discussed and passed.

A power point presentation is on the web titled "Working  With Decision Makers". A CD is also available.

Futuring task force report. ESP is a Professional Development  Organization. The next National ESP meeting is to be held in Colorado Springs. Peggy Anderson will attend.

Membership:  Eligibility to join ESP varies by state. Currently ND is at 5 years. This may need to change to 3 years of extension work.

Announcements:
Members are encouraged  to apply for up coming awards.

The regional JCEP meeting will be held on Feb. 28 to March 2 in St. Louis, MO.

PILD will be in Washington  D.C. onApril24, 2006.

The ESP creed was read at the close of the meeting.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:10am.
