Draft Minutes submitted 11/3/2016 by Andrew Thostenson, Secretary/Treasurer

Kathy Tweeten Report:

  • The national ESP conference takes place the week of October 24, 2016 in Cape May, NJ.  I’ll be attending the meeting and am a voting delegate.
  • There are still two openings for 2017 committees that should be filled by representatives from the North Central Region. Committees are Membership Recruitment and Retention Committee and the Marketing Committee.  I would strongly recommend that if you are at all interested in serving on the National ESP board, the first step is to serve on a committee.  You do get a little stipend for attending the national meeting.  I believe it’s $200.
  • As Pres-elect for ESP I am also on JCEP and on the JCEP Leadership Conference planning committee.  We had over 80 proposals so are looking at ways to provide more people a chance to showcase their work.  I know that there were a couple from ND so stay tuned….there may be a chance to do a poster if not selected for one of the 20-25 presentation spots.  Maybe holding a conference outside the front doors of Universal Studios helped to entice people to come!   Double Tree by Hilton – Orlando, Florida February 8-9, 2017
  • I would highly encourage Upsilon members and especially Life members, since I’m now one, to attend the ESP conference to be held next year:

       Wilmington, North Carolina
The dates for the conference are October 8 - 12, 2017.
The conference hotel will be the Hilton Wilmington Riverside

The conference committee is planning special events, tours, etc. for life members.

  • Public Issues Leadership Conference (PILD) Call for Oral Presentations

If you are interested in making a presentation at the 2017 Public Issues Leadership Development Conference at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City during the PILD     Conference April 2-5, 2017 you must submit your proposal by 5:00pm (PDT) November 1, 2016.
