Summary

Next rain event set for Sunday night (west) into Monday (east). Should be wet and not flakey.
Else, temperatures will be a touch chilly headed into the weekend, but turning sunny and mild by Sunday.
For now: the Drought Monitor map valid on April 16th, published April 18th, has some slight improvements to the ND map. Persistent area of D1 to D2 in northeast ND, with widespread D0 elsewhere. Touch of D1 in far NW and far SW corners of the state.
Overall, near to slightly normal temperatures are expected from late April into May, and beyond, while precipitation remains fickle.
