Dicamba Training Scheduled

Breana Kiser, Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent

Dicamba trainings have been scheduled by BASF, Monsanto and DuPont in various locations around North Dakota.

In October, the EPA released their new label language classifying the new formulation as restricted-use products, meaning that the chemical may only be applied and purchased by a certified pesticide applicator or under direct supervisor of a certified applicator.

Both applicators and those working under supervision are required to complete a Dicamba-specific training course before being allowed to apply the product.  The training will teach applicators techniques to use the technology to prevent incidences that occurred in the 2017 season.

The training sessions will meet the requirements of the state and attendees will be issued a certificate of completion which will also be registered within the ND pesticide database.  Applicators only need to attend one training to apply any of the three products.  The products are XtendiMax by Monsanto; Eugenia by BASF; and FeXapan by DuPont.  Fexapan is still in the registration process but DuPont is working on setting up training sessions to start as soon as approval is granted.

Registration is required so visit the sites for the trainings to pre-register or contact the personnel indicated with the training.  The schedule of dicamba trainings that are scheduled at this time are:
